My Secret 2024 Plan: More Impact, Less Effort
Dec 22, 2023I don't know about you, but I have a bunch of business gurus on my social media feeds screaming:
"While EVERYONE ELSE is winding down and CHILLING at the end of the year, YOU could be getting ahead and WINNING!".
I used to buy into the #grindlife thing.
But my priorities have shifted.
Now I'm ok with letting go of the ego, dodging the FOMO, and as my coach Kristoffer Carter says, giving myself "permission to chill".
So, this is my last newsletter of the year.
Next week I'll be celebrating the holidays and taking a trip to Bentonville, Arkansas (the self-proclaimed "Mountain Biking Capital of the World") with the family for New Years.
In this edition, I'm revealing my secret plan to create MAXIMUM positive impact on our profession without trading my time for money in 2024.
I hope it inspires you to think outside the box to create programs in your practice that build patient trust and create growth on autopilot without taking up more of your time.
A Business Designed Around Your Life... or a Life Designed Around Your Business?
In the early days of my practice, I worked a lot and I was okay with that. I was young, passionate, and driven to build my business.
As my practice grew, I spent more of my time working on things that I didn't like and wasn't exceptionally skilled at.
I was putting out fires, dealing with employees, managing legal and compliance issues...
In late 2019 I realized it wasn't sustainable, and it certainly wasn't what I wanted.
I just wanted to do creative work, solve interesting problems, help people, hang out with my family, and mountain bike.
The way I was spending my time had to change.
Over the course of the next two years, I stripped my practice down to the simplest, most profitable model possible, streamlined all of our systems, removed myself from the operations, and sold it.
Now I intentionally design my work to fit into my life, not the other way around.
My 2024 Plan for MORE Impact and LESS Effort
For the past two years, my work life has been focused on learning how to help my practice owner clients improve their businesses.
If you've worked with me, you might know that I'm a little obsessive and perfectionist.
I've invested (a lot) in my own coaches, courses, and consultants to build my skillsets and design my programs.
I've resisted rolling things out aggressively until I knew they really got results.
As another year wraps, it's been cool to reflect on the results I've had the privilege to help my clients achieve.
Here's just a sample of my clients' accomplishments:
- A practice added 6 figures of profit through higher treatment acceptance
- Over 200 offices have automated their database outreach and marketing
- Almost 20 professionals have launched new mobile audiology businesses
- A practice went from 10 private pay hearing aids per month to 25
- Multiple owners took 10+ hours off their clinic schedule
The Model
Up until this point I've worked with folks in a variety of ways, including group coaching, courses, one-on-one coaching, and SaaS products.
Now that I know my programs work in practices that aren't being operated by me, it's time to reveal my 2024 plan to create MORE impact in LESS time.

Level 1. Free Content
(Prospect - Now I have permission to communicate with them)
Format: Email Newsletter, LinkedIn Posts, Facebook Community Posts, Videos, Interviews, Free Guides and Resources
Purpose: Increase awareness of the problems that I solve and my unique approach, and offer the first steps to DIY the solution.
Level 2. Masterclasses
(Customer - Now they have transacted with me)
Format: Day Pass Access to our Community Live Masterclasses sharing high impact practice growth and freedom strategies, with lifetime replay access and unlimited use of the corresponding resources for under $100.
Purpose: One of three things will happen - either folks will love the Masterclasses and want to work with me, so they ascend into my Practice Amplifier Community, they'll execute on it themselves, or they won't like it and I'll give them a full refund.
It's a risk free and low-cost chance to test drive what I do and see if I'm someone you want in your corner.
I'll already be doing these Masterclasses for my Practice Amplifier Members, so this doesn't add time or extra work.
Participants will see how impactful it is in their practice, and may join the Practice Amplifier Community and/or work with me 1:1 for more access, resources, done-for-you implementation, and support.
Level 3. Practice Amplifier Community
(Client - Now they're someone I commit time and resources to)
Format: Weekly topic-specific Hot Seats, Office Hours, Monthly Masterclass, access to all of my courses and trainings, private curated community, quarterly Strategy Days - all of my IP gets built and shared here. Capped at 100 members.
Purpose: This is where I get to teach and share generously. Make it the hub for all of the business support, training, and resources practice owners and their teams need.
Because of the scalable format, I can create outsized value at an affordable price.
(Hidden) Level 4: Consulting Hours and 1:1 Coaching
Some clients will have a specific project, the desire to accelerate their progress, or want help with implementation. They will naturally reach out for 1:1 help or consulting hours.
These are my hidden "Level 4" offers, which I won't be actively promoting.
I'll be capping at five 1:1 clients at a time and 5 consulting hours/week in 2024, as this is my most time-intensive work.
